In 1971, Robert Friedland founded Friedland Realty, a NY commercial real estate brokerage firm. What began as a one-man operation grew into the largest privately owned commercial real estate firm in the region.
While leading Friedland Realty, Bob began investing in commercial real estate by creating syndications and joint ventures. By improving underperforming assets to unlock their full potential, these investments generated strong returns for both him and his partners, naturally evolving into a full-time focus on value-driven development.
Wilmot Capital represents the culmination of this progression, a firm built on experience, vision, and disciplined execution. Today, Wilmot Capital invests nationwide, guided by a commitment to precision, integrity, and consistency in its strategy.

Bob lives in Westchester, New York, with his wife, Sheila. He has three sons and eleven grandchildren, and enjoys woodworking, singing, and traveling.

Allison Friedland serves as Vice President of Acquisitions at Wilmot Capital Partners, where she oversees the sourcing and execution of investment opportunities across the firm’s portfolio. She specializes in identifying underutilized and below-market assets and transforming them into high-performing investments.
Known for her strategic mindset and entrepreneurial approach, Allison has a strong track record of creating value through thoughtful acquisitions, repositioning, and lease structuring. She works closely with the firm’s leadership team, including her father-in-law, Bob, to help expand Wilmot’s footprint and cultivate lasting relationships with brokers, owners, and partners nationwide.
She lives in Westchester, New York with her husband, Ben, and has three almost adult children. Outside of work, Allison enjoys cooking, reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends, often over a great game.
Shawn Nagpal:
Vice President of Investments & Asset Management
Shawn Nagpal serves as Vice President of Investments and Asset Management at Wilmot Capital Partners, where he oversees financial strategy, capital deployment, and portfolio performance across the firm’s commercial real estate holdings. He specializes in identifying value-add and below-market opportunities and structuring transactions that generate long-term, risk-adjusted returns.
Known for his analytical rigor and entrepreneurial drive, Shawn brings a disciplined approach to acquisitions, asset management, and capital formation — drawing on parallel experience in sourcing and managing private market investments and his own entrepreneurial successes. He works closely with the firm’s leadership to grow Wilmot’s footprint and build lasting relationships with operators, brokers, and institutional partners across the country.
He lives in Westchester, New York with his wife and 6 year old son. Outside of work, Shawn enjoys reading, basketball, and boxing, and is an active board member of LunarNYC, a nonprofit supporting inner-city youth through sports.
